Welcome to LGN's only point to point 1km 'Loop' and to what is our flattest route as LGN Run Club members will speed along part of London's rich industrial heritage.
'Pedestrians have priority' sweet music to LGN Run Club member's ears
The starting point for this particular Regents Park 1km is Thornhill Bridge on the Caledonian Road, just 2min jog from Kings Cross
Thornhill Bridge is so much more than a bridge, get ready to enjoy Community Garden after 1km effort

These railings opposite Thornhill Community Gardens canal entrance mark LGN's 1km start point
Your first sight as you head North at the start of your Regents Canal 1km
Your first of only two 'hills', this one after only 200m - approx 3 feet long and rising a mighty 130 inches
Nature's blossom and urban regeneration in full effect after 300m of your 1km effort
As you run under the first bridge dont forget to shout 'Land Ahoy me heartys' for echo effect
You are at halfway (500m) exactly at this spot just prior to second bridge - hold that momentum!
A funky floating pontoon holds your gazelle-like strides aloft while the regeneration work continues
At 700m a chicance will attempt to slow you as canal bends right - laugh in its face and push on
One final chicane and your second 'hill', attack it hard as the 1km finish is now close at hand
As you ascend the might 'hill' peak you can just see the green bridge 150m away which is your 1km finish
The start of the white railing under the bridge is exactly 1km!
