Inter Advertising 5km Run 2010

Wednesday, 8th September 2010

The sun shone, Vangellis & an extensive Bill Conti aka Rocky compilation were played and oh how the ad industry responded with some running emotion.

We had two new Inter Advertising course records, an Olympian, man running with young lady on his shoulders, medals worn with pride and a true quality scrap for the next 12 months worth of team bragging rights.

Please find full results below, LGN's new chip timing system appears to be a 99% success, and thank you to all runners for taking the time to correctly fasten their LGN Chronotrack timing chips.

LGN Run Club trainers Shavaun and Nicola help warm up several hundred lactic loving advertising party people

Race day top line summary:

DDB UK win back the 5km trophy and bragging rights back from McCann Erickson, but the team at LGN doff our caps in respect to McCann for putting up such a quality and vigorous defence - with only 4 mintues amongst the 3 and half hours of cumulative team running seperating glory from aerobic heart break.

LGN's newly UK Athletics ratified 5km course saw a new men's Inter Advertising course record by Fallon's Matt Pointon in 16.23 and indeed another record tumbled in the women's race where Sandy Wilson from Sky Media scorched round the LGN course in 18.42 - chapeau!

With only 54 seconds on the clock and the 500 ad land runners are fully in their aerobic groove

The quality of the good natured competition was born out by how many agency teams were truly hustling for a top 10 spot and indeed how many look close to being able to legitimately challenge in 2011, with Fallon, OMD Manning Gottlieb, BBH, Ogilvy, TBWA, MEC and team Brilliance (MPG) all showing great running passion.

LGN's Director Ben Pochee said 'The atmosphere and mass running spirit at this years 5km was a joy to be part of and while we heartily congratulate DDB UK for their winning team effort, we would like to salute all those who ran and showed just what energy and running potential underpins the cream of London's creative communications hub'

Thanking you

LGN would like to say a massive thanks to all the helpers on the day that helped make the event run so smoothly, from the superb LGN running passionate trainers, to the team from NABS, to Maurice our time keeper extraordinaire and of course the Runners Need team and top team from Asics.

And finally thank you to all the teams who got involved to make a significant fundraising contribution to NABS and indeed made the event yet another beautiful endorphin enriched running success.

Comments

John

What a good natured, well-organised evening out in the park. A good course, a great bunch of people (including all those behind the scenes), makes me wonder why I go to other organised races when smaller, friendlier ones like this exist. Shame it's only once a year :)
Thanks to everyone involved.
J.
